The microbicide action of iopovid starts immediately a drop is instilled in the eperiocular region (lids, brow and cheek) and irrigation of the ocular surface (cornea, conjunctiva, and palpebral fornices) vc of the neonate. Its action is prolonged for 30 minutes.
